TSI 62% Fe CFR China
Iron Ore — grades, benchmarks and payable terms
KWE Metals ships magnetite, hematite and siderite from Central American ground. Iron ore is a volume business, so terms are built around tonnage, iron content, silica and alumina penalties and freight.
Live benchmark
Auto-refreshed every 60 seconds; delayed up to 15 minutes. Indicative only.
Iron ore is priced from the TSI 62% Fe CFR China index, with grade adjustment up or down from the 62% base and penalties for deleterious elements.
Specification
- Products
- Magnetite, hematite, siderite, run-of-mine lump and fines
- Typical grade
- Quoted as % Fe with SiO2, Al2O3 and P reported
- Packaging
- Bulk stockpile loading, containerised for trial cargoes
- Payable basis
- Grade-adjusted TSI 62% Fe index, CFR or FOB by agreement
Grade adjustment explained
The 62% Fe index is a base, not a price. Material above 62% earns a premium per iron unit and material below it takes a discount, then silica, alumina and phosphorus penalties apply. We publish those figures before terms are struck.
Trial cargoes
New buyers usually start with a containerised trial parcel so they can run their own assay and metallurgical checks before committing to bulk tonnage.
